Solar Heating & Cooling
StarPak’s workhorse solar products tap free solar energy for your energy needs, using the most efficient solar panels. This means using the sun to heat a liquid, which generates energy. Solar thermal panels are often used for water heating, pool heating, and heating and cooling of air.
UltraStar
UltraStar© generates free renewable space heating, cooling and hot water. Named Michigan Product of the Year in 1983, UltraStar remains atop the national solar efficiency ratings today. StarPak solar panels gain the sun’s heat, which is pumped to StarPak Storage tanks. Domestic water is routed thru this tank, heating for free before entering your existing water heater. When your thermostat calls for heat in winter, UltraStar© delivers this stored heat stored to preheat air before it enters the furnace, strongly reducing energy bills. In summer, UltraStar Desiccooling©, powered by your solar panels, dehumidifies the building, creating comfortably drier air and eliminating mold and mildew threats. This extends your building’s life, improves health, and powerfully reduces summer cooling costs.

Pool Heating
StarPak solar panels heat pool and spa water directly using your existing pump. Millions of these are installed worldwide, with many tens of thousands installed by StarPak, including the Midwest's biggest system (YMCA, Lebanon, OH), and also in Paul McCartney’s Montserrat recording studio! StarPak's install there is honored on that nation's postage stamp! How does solar work? Each panel encapsulates a half mile of black tubing. Sunlight, even just daylight, warms this black surface. Your pool pump pushes pool water thru. The water gets warm. That’s it! By correctly sizing the panel count, StarPak assure you get the pool temperature you prefer.

Solar Hot Water
StarPak’s flagship solar energy system generates free renewable water heating. In 1983 named Michigan Product of the Year, today our tested solar efficiencies are still top of the list nationwide. StarPak roof- or ground-mounted solar panels gain the sun’s heat, which is pumped to a StarPak storage tank. Domestic water is then routed thru this tank, heating for free before entering your existing water heater. The system is modular for perfect-fit sizing, and works under clouds and in winter, providing free year-round renewable energy.

Solar Air Pre-Heat & Cooling
StarPak Solar Panels readily pre-heat/pre-treat ‘make up air’, which must be introduced per code to reduce CO2 buildup to acceptable levels in all non-residential buildings. Without solar or other cost-effective forms of pre-heating, such make-up air is introduced to the building freezing cold in winter and hot/humid/sticky in summer. StarPak solar panels efficiently pre-heat air all fall, winter and spring. During the summer cooling season, StarPak panels go into overdrive, their intense heat used to dehumidify intake air. This lowering of humidity dramatically lowers air conditioning costs.
